Turmeric has proven itself for thousands of years as a natural anti-inflammatory. If you read about it in the news or health blogs it seems like it’s the newest thing! Either way turmeric is pretty easy to add to your everyday health routine. A teaspoon to a smoothie, a sprinkle in your soup, a dash in your ground meat or meat substitute and in your homemade salad dressings!

This salad dressing is creamy and savory with a touch of honey for taste and added health benefits. The garlic is no joke too. It’s subtle in taste but it’s there to remind you that it has its own anti-oxidant properties. This has been so good on any raw green salad and last night I put it on roasted beets! Sooo good!

Ingredients:

1 C. yogurt

1 T. turmeric

2 t. pink salt

Black pepper to taste

1 T. raw, local honey

¼ C. water if you are using Greek yogurt, leave water out if you are using regular, more liquid yogurt

¼ C. extra virgin olive oil

1 garlic clove, pressed

Directions:

Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth. It’s that easy!

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Use this throughout the week. It will stay fresh for one week.

I like to use a jar of dressing throughout the week on anything and everything! Toward the end of the week, I make a huge slaw or salad with vegetables I have left (usually the night before my new Farm Fresh delivery comes). I pour all the dressing I have left over the slaw and eat it up!
