Here’s a recipe that couldn’t be simpler to prepare and only gets better while you catch some zzz’s.

Oats are a resistant starch which is a starch which is a carbohydrate which is one of the macronutrients that our body needs.

Resistant starches do not get digested in the small intestine.

Their job is to feed the good bacteria in your gut.

The good bacteria is probiotics.

Resistant starches feed probiotics.

Ingredients:

1 ½ cup oats

3 cups liquid (nut milk, coconut milk or water)

Right now I am loving Three Trees Almond Milk: almonds, vanilla, water

*Choose a milk with the fewest ingredients.

¼ cup berries (fresh or frozen)

¼ nuts or seeds or nut butter

1 tsp. high quality cinnamon

1 serving protein powder

(Making three jars at a time helps maintain freshness.)

Divide the ingredients into three jars (use any container you have), mix, add toppings and put in the refrigerator.

Enjoy the morning at which time you may want to add a bit of milk or water and stir.
